Anyone who has entered a valid access code for the free BARMER bike campaign in the official Radbonus platform may collect cycling kilometers and, when reaching different goals, take part in the associated prize draws or win instant prizes. In the app, these are listed under the "Challenges" section.
The prerequisite is that the terms of use and participation have been read and accepted. At the same time, consent must be given to the use and storage of the data listed below.
As part of the entire BARMER bike campaign, all participants receive topic-related notifications in the app as in-app messages. The BARMER access code is valid until the end of the campaign period; after that, the official Radbonus offers will be shown in the app.
For easier readability, these terms use masculine grammatical forms for personal nouns and pronouns. This does not imply any disadvantage to women, but is intended to be understood as gender-neutral.
Using location services and the smartphone's motion sensors, the app calculates the cycling kilometers ridden. To do this, location services must generally be enabled on the device and active permission must be granted to use location-based data.
The calculation is triggered by manually pressing the app's Start and Stop button at the beginning and end of the ride. Outside this time window, no location-based data is accessed.
Note: Active use of the smartphone while cycling is not allowed.
In addition, the app accesses the date and time.
Radbonus strives for the highest possible accuracy in distance measurement, but cannot guarantee accuracy. Depending on the smartphone and available services, location services use a combination of cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS data to determine position.
The app also includes an algorithm that filters out rides showing noticeable signs of an unauthorized mode of transportation. In this case, saving the kilometers is blocked.
Problems with ride tracking can be reported to: service@radbonus.com
There is no entitlement to correction of ride distances.
When the app is installed, a Radbonus identification number (ID number) is created. In connection with this number and the valid access code, only the following data are stored:
